Review of Fun Size (2012) by Bibin M — 08 Mar 2013
Fun Size not only could have been fun, but should have been fun. It has a few awesome (and I mean AWESOME) scenes, but for the most part it plays it safe and doesn't try to be original. The best part is Albert, a little kid who gets into a whole bunch of misadventures.
He meets a convenience store clerk named Fuzzy, who plans to get even with the guy who stole his girlfriend. But sadly, this is not what the movies entirely about. Instead we get a bland love triangle ark, and dreadfully unfunny scenes involving the mom at a party.
A lot of the plot is very predictable and just makes you wish for more Albert scenes. That being said, there are a few really awesome (really AWESOME) scenes, my favorite involved a musket riffle and a chicken wing.
But scenes like this are the only times the movie comes out of the box. I don't know if it was for a forced PG13 rating, or budget reasons, or just laziness, but more scenes like this would have made this movie really good! I would defiantly like seeing a similar concept to this in a much more clever movie.
So bottom line, rent it for the good parts, but keep the remote on stand by.
