Review of Fun and Fancy Free (1947) by Jason Z — 08 Nov 2007
Disney Classics Marathon - Fun and Fancy Free.
Disney's ninth classic is another of the package movies produce to keep the studio afloat in the years during and just after the second world war. While these movies are certainly ideal for family viewing they fail to offer anything that captures my attention in the same way that Snow White or Pinocchio did.
Fun and Fancy Free combines two stories into one package. The first is the story of Bongo the Bear who runs away from the circus into the wild. The second is the story of Jack and the Beanstalk starring Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy. This segment is perhaps noteable for being the last appearance of Walt Disney as the voice of Mickey Mouse.
3/5.
