Review of Fulltime Killer (2001) by Michael W — 08 Mar 2004
Bubba Ho-Tep: The best performance to come out of Bruce Campbell was captured perfectly by Coscarelli. With dialogue so brilliant, simple and honest, this movie managed to make me laugh while feeling sad at the same time. One of the better movies of the year, with plenty of memorable scenes, characters, music, and dialogue.
Infernal Affairs: Another excellent movie to come from asia. This is more of a crime thiriller, that certainly knows how to keep the audience captive and entertained from beginning to end. Top notch performances all around, from the main charaters, to the supporting actors. This is just a well done movie.
Starsly & Hutch: Knowing it was directed by Phillips, I was already expecting a blast. And I got it. The movie is funny and very entertaining. Maybe it doesnt have many punch-lines, but the whole setting, story and charm of the characters was enough to make me laugh. Excellent cameo by Ferrell, whose scene was just hilarious.
Passion of the Christ: What can I say that hasnt been said already.
ADDED: Fulltime Killer: Another action movie from asia. It stars Andy Lau from Internal Affairs, and like it, this is a two-way showdown between characters that share some traits, yet they are very different when it comes to growing up on screen. It is entertaining, but I felt something was missing. It mentions movies such as Leon, Desperado, and Point Break, which was a nice touch.
