Review of Fulltime Killer (2001) by Blind P — 24 Mar 2007
Mild entertainment is the modern mode as my movie mailings move to moderation.
Audition is a psychological horror whose slow build is handled skillfully, making the climax more impactful. I enjoyed it, but never need see it again.
Fulltime Killer is an improbable cartoon drawing life from the war between "O" and "Tok" to be the baddest ass assassin being paid to kill. Comes complete with love interest, and is so over the top that I found it humourous.
Colour of the Truth had its moments, but in the end I was not carried by the mystery to find out "who killed my dad??!! HIM!!".
District B13 features some talented stunt work that one marvels at. There is a small attempt at logic within the framework, as expressed by the objections characters make to being manipulated chiefly, and so despite its overall "dumb factor" it is entertaining. You really can solve the problems of the world with your top notch running and jumping skills.
