Review of Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa (2005) by Marques M — 24 Aug 2008
I honestly can't think of how this movie could've been better which makes this easier for me since that is exactly what a 5-star movie should be. When a movie does everything that it sets out to do, and does it well the least you can do is give it a good rating.
Admittedly there is much more to gain from watching the series before getting around to this movie. "Conqueror of Shamballa" directly follows the events of the last episode of the series yet manages not to feel like simply another installment. It was meant to close the book on this story, and it does exactly that in a way that is both fitting as well as capable of granting the viewer closure. Since not many people outside of those who have already seen it would likely understand a plot summary, I won't give one. Instead I'll simply recommend both the series and it's feature-length conclusion. They don't disappoint.
