Review of Full Tilt Boogie (1998) by Daniel B — 13 Sep 2008
An oddly titled (let's pick a quote from someone in the movie and call it that) documentary about the making of the modern classic 'From Dusk Till Dawn.'.
While there wasn't as much of Robert Rodriguez directing the film as I would have liked, it is interestingly unique in that it follows crew members who are lower in the heirarchy, such as the grips, the caterers and even Tarantino's personal assistant. This keeps the film from being just a long making of feature and creates a really unique look at 90s 'independent' filmmakers battling the Unions and, between long days, having a really good time.
