Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by Adriano V — 24 Oct 2012
Not even close to being among the best war movies or even the best films Kubrick has made. The first 45 minutes of this movie is tragic, haunting, very original, and perfect, but the rest of the movie drops so low in quality due to predictable outcomes, dry attempts at satire, and a very overlong sniper battle that feels just cliche.
How unfortunate.
