Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by Seth S — 29 Apr 2012
Kubrick's film is a true embodiment of both the mental struggle received pre-war and post war. The film, through it's raw and extreme look into a Marine's boot camp training and it's views,( though light), into battlefield combat, gives a new genre of military movie.
Part action/combat, part thriller and part drama, this is a film that doesn't attempt to stylize with previous blood bath, action filled war movies.
