Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by Stavros H — 01 May 2012
Stanley Kubrick has always charmed me with his war philosophy. When Joker was returning to his camp and stating despite being in a world of shit, he was glad to be alive and no longer afraid, I realized, "Full Metal Jacket" was bigger than Kubrick, Gustav Hasford or even Vietnam War.
It's stupid to compare this film with "Platoon" or "Saving Private Ryan". First 45 minutes made this movie a whole different thing.
