You don't know war until you see 3 films: 'Apocalypse Now', 'Saving Private Ryan', and Stanley Kubrick's 'Full Metal Jacket.' Joker, Private Pile, and Srgt. Hartman are the characters that affected me the most.
Joker's stance on peace, Pile's transformation from a lovable underdog to suicidal psychotic, and Srgt. Hartman's villainous tirade on all his maggots. Considering this is Stanley's final war film, I'd safely say it ended that part of his career with a bang (no pun intended.
).
