Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by Scott J — 25 Jun 2012
One of the most unfliching looks at Vietnam. The first half deals with the recrutes and how they deal with boot camp. But the main guts is about the war. It makes you wonder if we actually did the right thing by going in there.
And the last scene is gut wrenching because it shows that for those who served it destroyed their innocense and youth and that to deal with the horrors of war they have to sing the Mickey Mouse theme.
