Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by Stefan G — 28 Sep 2012
With an even greater commitment to realism than Platoon, this subtly anti-war masterpiece takes you through the dehumanizing tour of duty, without ignoring the humanity of its cast. The near lack of music adds to the realistic atmosphere, as do the action sequences, which act like a real army is fighting a real battle.
If you're looking for a film against 'Nam that isn't up it's own ass with preaching, this is for you.
