Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by Bernard B — 03 Nov 2012
Kubrick bluray box set has turned up so having a marathon session over the weekend. This first up. Not his best work by any means. It doesn't flow as a film, in that it remains more a collection of set-pieces with very little character development, and it also suffers from having a second half that can't compete with the epic boot camp sequence.
More a 3 3/4 stars.
