Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by Jorge S — 18 Feb 2014
The story follows a few recruits at camp before they are shipped out to war. The first part is almost a comedy of sorts until it takes a dark turn late and they get shipped out to war. The tone changes a bit and it feels more like a documentary of sorts where the soldiers don't really know why they are there, but do it anyways.
They go on a mission where they find a sniper who pins them down so they must find a way to survive before they are all killed. A pretty interesting movie, felt the first half was a little more interesting and moved along better and the second half wandered around just a little too much before ending abruptly.
I did enjoy it, but not as much as I thought given the film's recommendations.
