Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by John A — 30 Jan 2015
Stanley Kubrick's return after a seven year hiatus, is this excellent war drama which follows raw recruits of volunteers in the US marine corps. The film is structured into two distinct sections, the first showing their training by a hard as nails Sgt.
, before plunging our characters right in the middle of the Vietnam war. Excellently written, produced & directed Kubrick doesn't disappoint in entertaing his audience. The film also features great performances from its then largely unknown cast.
