Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by Bradley W — 21 Feb 2015
So beautiful. Funny at parts. If every director were like Kubrick, people would love movies more. This work of art is about the war in Vietnam and the training that marines have to endure. Training involves physical abuse, as well as mental when Sgt.
Hartman humiliates and teaches his future marines to master their guns and build a disregard for human life in the battle. The movie is not only quotable, but it is THE war film. If you still think that war is collecting coins after you shoot people on a battleground, watch this and get proven wrong.
Seriously, though. Watch this. And we'll talk about it.
