Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by David S — 10 May 2015
Full Metal Jacket will always be one of the greatest depictions of war thanks to the meticulousness and style of Kubrick. The detail he has gone into each step, contrasting different tones, blending in subtle dark humour, all in the greater good of creating essentially an anti-war film.
The actors are all incredible in their development towards a world of chaos and degradation. There is little to flaw with this perfect madness, as Kubrick shows off once again the reasons for his genius, through this cinematic emotional roller-coaster, ending it on a perfectly tongue-in-cheek mickey mouse song.
