Review of Full Metal Jacket (1987) by Veronica . — 24 Jun 2012
The movie as far as it being unique was outstanding, for the first half. While in training, this is when the original Kubrick tension really took place, and the quiet, un-easy mystery of it all. The way the scenes fade in and out created a lot of this mystery of something just isn't quite right.
Now, the second half is your typical Vietnam war movie, it's good, great, exciting, but all of it is battle, rescue, tradegy, and obeying orders. It's all great, and a movie everyone should see.
