Was it just my mood? I couldn't handle it, just a little too earnest for me. I giggled a few times and I don't think I was supposed to. Sometimes I felt like someone was hitting me over the head with a hammer, and at others like someone was holding an onion in front of my face.
Perhaps my expectations were too high/ Or perhaps this novel shouldn't have been made into a movie.
