Review of Fuck (2006) by Mike M — 08 Feb 2009
It's scattershot, and very much intended as a riposte to the (highly profitable) redaction of the Federal Communications Committee, whose powers redoubled under Dubya. Still, it covers a lot of ground, shrewdly playing off freedom of expression against the right not to be offended through a diverse yet admirably balanced line-up of talking heads: family-values champion Michael Medved and Pat Boone (gamely proposing his own surname as a replacement cuss) as well as Ice-T, Billy Connelly and porn star Ron Jeremy.
Not for the vicar, perhaps, but - to its credit - there's something to challenge almost everyone here.
