Review of Fuck (2006) by Giffy G — 24 Apr 2009

As far as documentaries go, this was rather pointless. It was merely a rehashing of the role the word "fuck" serves in American society, both conservative and liberal. And I state it that way on purpose, as this movie leaves little room for a middle ground.

While experts were interviewed, the majority of talking heads in this movie were celebrities used more for their sound bites than for their insights. I wish the movie had taken its subject a little more seriously, as there are deep and important issues at the root of how Americans treat this word, and while the funny parts of the documentary were engaging and enjoyable, the documentary had aspirations to importance that it did not live up to.
