Fruitvale Station is a gritty, powerful, and emotional drama based of real events. Michael B. Jordan gives a praiseworthy performance along with strong supporting characters. Though it doesn't even clock in at 90 minutes, Fruitvale Station is effective at engrossing the viewer in the life and horrific death of Oscar Grant.
Not traditional cinema by any means, but it is film that leaves strong emotions with its audience long after the credits roll.
