Review of Fruitvale Station (2013) by Peter P — 22 Jan 2014
Sad but very well made movie about the true story of Oscar Grant and how he was gunned down while handcuffed and face down on the Fruitvale subway platform. Michael B. Jordon is incredible in the lead role, portraying a man that is far from perfect but is trying to be a better person.
The movie is not fast paced, but it holds your attention well, especially since you know where the night is heading, and director Ryan Coogler does a great job keeping that tension going while not letting the viewer get frustrated in the process.
Good job by all those involved, and both Jordon and Coogler have very bright futures ahead.
