Review of Fruitvale Station (2013) by Antero M — 26 Jan 2014
The first thing I will discuss is what I thought stood out the most in this short 80 minute drama, and that is Michael B. Jordan who caries the whole film with his performance. For the entire 80 minutes we are locked into this young man's life as it is cut short at a time where things needed to turn around.
Anyone whose dealt with any kind of struggle can relate to Oscar (Michael B. Jordan). Ocatavia Spencer was fantastic as his mother. I didn't agree with some of the direction, I though some shots seemed overlong at times.
Its an emotionally draining film to say the least, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
