Fruitvale Station would play mostly as a sensitive slice-of-life if not for the bookends which both bring us back to a disturbing reality and add a sense of dread to the rest of the average day proceedings.
Michael B. Jordan, Octavia Spencer, and Melanie Diaz are all intimately powerful.
