Review of Fruitvale Station (2013) by Alex W — 13 May 2014
I think the idea of doing a bio pic in this way, picking a series of interesting events from someones life and showing them as if it were all the same day, is brilliant and flawlessly done in this movie.
This also could have ended up being a soft unrealistic distorted portrayal of a victim but writer/director Ryan Coogler was to good for that. What he shows us instead is a sometimes wonderful sometimes flawed young man.
We need more movies like this and more stories like this told. I predict we have not herd the last of Coogler and the movies star Michael B. Jordan.
