Review of Frozen River (2008) by Drew S — 18 Apr 2009

I can't really say I enjoyed this movie, because it is so bleak. But it's wonderfully made, well written and beautifully acted. This is the definition of a "small movie," with a group of characters whose problems truly don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.

But the issues they confront are larger than they are, and we're moved by their humanity.
