Review of Frozen River (2008) by Miguel T — 06 Sep 2009
This movie definitely deserves the two Oscar-noms that it got. Courtney Hunt's debut screenplay was one of the most unique stories I have seen translated into film in the past five years. Melissa Leo plays a very convincing lower-class single mom trying to get by in order to support her two kids.
This was probably THE sleeper film of 2008. Watch it if you can!
