Review of Frozen River (2008) by Sean C — 04 Apr 2010
Melissa Leo, as lead character Ray, is a tour de force. Her acting knocks the socks off most female leads. You feel her pain at the start and you're with her when she starts smuggling human cargo into her native Canada for the money.
It's tense stuff but not a 'thriller' as the advertising blurb would have you believe.
