Review of Frozen River (1929) by Sandy K — 11 Jul 2009
A powerful indie film that is character-driven -- two women whose hard lives leave them more "frozen" than the northern NY winter, yet whose unlikely (and initially adversarial) pairing gives them a new outlook.
Amongst other things, this is an unvarnished look at human smuggling.
