Review of Frozen II (2019) by Dharma — 11 Jan 2020
Frozen II is a typical Disney sequel; meaning its there to milk the so called stand alone first installment to its maximum profit potential. As of writing, it has exceeded the box office take of the original.
Let's get to the good part: gorgeous, stunning animation and stellar production values, incomparable to any studios in the world. Yet like Toy Story 4, its plot feels contrived and 'forced'. You can literally feel the Production team struggling to'top up' the original.
For instance,'Let it Go' was the breakout hit for Elsa in the original, let's have her belt TWO anthems...sadly never reaching that 'lightning in the bottle' quality of the original. Nevertheless, only Disney can do his type of thing, and it will be on children's streaming playlist ad nauseaum, to the detriment of parents everywhere.
