Review of Frozen (2013) by Erik M — 12 Sep 2015
Frozen's success is a very interesting thing to me. A movie that was projected to make about $185 million at the domestic box office ended up making over $400 million domestically. Not only that, it also made over $1.
2 billion worldwide, the highest grossing movie of 2013. The word of mouth for this movie was outstanding, growing momentum week after week. Eventually, it led to the overplaying of the song "Let it Go," causing many to be annoyed by the song and the movie.
The movie itself is delightful. Mixing in charming characters, catchy songs, beautiful animation, and some clever writing, this film is something special. The blue of the ice and the darkness of the night combine to make a fantastic looking movie.
Everything about the film isn't perfect, but on the whole, every aspect this film simply fascinates me, from the songs, to the whole Frozen phenomenon, to the gorgeous visuals, and to Queen Elsa.
