Review of Frost/Nixon (2008) by Justin F — 07 May 2010
A very good film. Im of the generation that is too young to remember the scandal at the time and for that reason the film was a little too short (even at 2 hours) as it sometimes assumes prior knowledge of the event in my opinion.
Where the film really scores for me is in the stellar performances form everyone. Chief winner in this is Frank Langella who is simply outstanding. He manages to give Nixon a humanity and sensitivity that you wouldnt normally associate with the man in real life.
Michael Sheen (as Frost) was his usual versatile self and ive yet to see him play a role in which he is not fully convincing. The film is also directed with a pace that keeps you interested throughout which is all the more an achievement for a film of this nature.
Highly recommended.
