Review of Frost/Nixon (2008) by Terror A — 10 May 2010
Director Ron Howard's screen adaptation of writer Peter Morgan's acclaimed stage-play is a superb and very riveting period drama about David Frost, a British talk show host who has scored the first one-on-one interview with disgraced former U.
S. president Richard Nixon following the infamous "Watergate" scandal. What follows is a battle between these two men as Frost tries to get Nixon to admit his guilt and involvement in the incident.
Michael Scheen and Frank Langella (who both reprise their roles from the play) are excellent as the title characters and their scenes together are fantastic. The all star supporting cast are all terrific, Morgan's script is first rate and Howard's direction is extremely well done.
Without a doubt Ron Howard's finest film to date and one of the best of 2008.
