Review of Frost/Nixon (2008) by Matthew R — 09 Oct 2010
I wasn't sure I'd be able to get into a political film with very little knowledge of the events themselves, but with a great cast like Sheen, Langella, Sam Rockwell and others all pulling their weight it really made the film easy to watch.
Anyway, I can't say enough good things about Michael Sheen, but this film really rises above it's genre. Drama doesn't have to be camp and melodramatic, here is a decent example, succeeding.
As for generating empathy etc. etc. it seems to be painting Nixon a certain way, but I really don't have any bearing on the real man, but it's nice to see him in a light other than that portrayed in Futurama.
And everything else.
