Being a student of Politics, there was no escaping Frost/Nixon for me. There has been much controversy surrounding the attempted Impeachment of Nixon, and the Watergate Scandal that preceeded it. I don't mean to make this review turn into my political thoughts on the film, but it's just something I had to mention.
Anyways, the film Frost/Nixon was incredible, and without a doubt the best film Ron Howard has ever done in my opinion. Michael Sheen and Frank Langella play the titular figures, David Frost and Richard Nixon.
Each actor is incredible; absorbing the true essence of the celebrity, but doing more than just simple impersonation. The supporting cast was also superb. I've heard people complain that the beginning of the film is slow, but I didn't have that problem with the film.
The interview scenes are intense, and an absolute delight to watch. The dialogue; the direction and the performances make the film wildly recommendable, and both an enjoyable film experience, and an interesting political film.
