Review of Frost/Nixon (2008) by Felicity L — 01 Jan 2011
I really enjoyed this film. I get a sense that the events it portrays are, necessarily for Hollywood, dramatised. However, the enter story itself was surprisingly compelling, given what the plot reads like on paper.
Much more than a movie about an interview, this is a tale of two men, one in the ascendancy and one quickly losing everything he ever had in terms of power and influence. The battle of wills captured in the actual interview scenes rang true, although much of the documentary-style commentary by characters involved in the filming felt false and unnecessary.
Overall, this was an interesting historical film that delivered far more than expected. Worth a watch.
