A very good film that is essentially a character study movie. Both Langella and Sheen do exceptional jobs in their lead roles, they both portrayed the "little things" (ie. silent moments, face gestures) brilliantly.
In terms of who I think deserved Oscar nods, Langella definitely deserved it. In terms of Ron Howard for best director, he didn't do a bad job but the actors stole the show. So his nomination, I suspect, is more of a Oscar "Club" kind of thing.
In terms of "Best Movie" as a Canadian, I don't think I could could ever grasp the magnitude these interviews played in American History. So if I try to think of it from the perspective of an American, I'd say yes, as a non-American I wouldn't be opposed but not a enthusiastic supporter.
