Review of Frost/Nixon (2008) by Kay K — 08 Jan 2013
Maybe it's the nerd inside me, but sometimes I really like to watch a film where I learn something. And that's exactly what I got with 'Frost/Nixon'.
When disgraced President Richard Nixon agreed to an interview with jet-setting television personality David Frost, he thought he'd found the key to saving his tarnished legacy. But, with a name to make and a reputation to overcome, Frost became one of Nixon's most formidable adversaries and engaged the leader in a charged battle of wits that changed the face of politics forever.
I don't usually get too excited about politics but I knew about this interview and decided to watch the film. I wouldn't recommend it to someone wanting a light film, but if you commit to the 2 hours, you won't be disappointed.
Frank Langella did an incredible job playing Nixon; physically the similarities were there but he took on the persona more so in his voice and gestures.
Frost: Are you saying the President can do something illegal?
Nixon: I'm saying that when the President does it, that means it's not illegal.
Talk about corruption and abuse of power. Geez.
