Review of Frost/Nixon (2008) by Caz H — 11 Feb 2013

Certainly met my expectations. Very fun build-up in the first quarter, and then slammed with an excellent back and forth between two unlikely actors that own each of their roles. Ron Howard did a fine job keeping the camera at interesting but never distracting angles while maintaining a light-hearted but affecting dialogue/interview that makes up for most of the films runtime.

The inbetween interview scenes were particularly engaging as if a heavy weight and a feather weight were between rounds of a match, soaking up the blood and sweat that had just been spilt before the cameras.

Like I said, Michael Sheen (the lucky fucker that knocked up Kate Beckinsale) and Frank Langella (Skeletor) dominate their roles; without them the movie may have fallen flat. The film is totally fun and engaging but never sails beyond safe waters.
