Review of Frontier(s) (2007) by Brian S — 18 Jun 2018
Wether you look at it as a political satire, or just a revolting splatter fest, this daring film, part of the "New French Extremity" wave, which High Tension (2003) is also part of, is impressive.
For a bunch of unknown actors, the acting is convincing, the cinematography is raw and realistic, which adds to the grittiness and shock value of the flick. It feels like a French mix of Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and The Hills have Eyes (1977), but done with neo-nazis and ten times more gore.
And it's overall a pretty horrifying and enjoyable gory horror pic. Recommended !!
