Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by Zach M — 07 Jul 2011
The second entry in the Bond franchise.
From Russia With Love up the action and characters compared to the first film but still hasn't completely found the formula that would make the Bond films the huge success they are.
It still is more of a spy thriller than anything and is paced a little slower than most Bond films.
We are introduced to Ernst Blofeld, the head of SPECTRE, but we never see him, only the back of his chair, his arm and him petting his cat.
We are also introduced to Rosa Klebb, Donald Grant and Kronsteen more interesting villains from the SPECTRE universe.
This entry also introduces the first gadget and Q (though he doesn't go by Q yet).
