Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by Mike A — 11 Feb 2012
This movie..... this movie.... I am really trying to enjoy these Bond films. The plot from this movie is well developed and the pace of the movie is fairly fast and constant. It was difficult for me to watch this one, I think, because I managed to grow up in a world that parodied this type of Bond constantly. It is SO schlocky. For example,.
James Bond: You're one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen.
Tatiana: Thank you, but I think my mouth is too big.
James Bond: No, it's the right size... for me, that is.
That's just blatant and not smart at all! Horrifying. I did like Dr. No a lot more. I hope other Bond movies focus less on the sexy foreign lady and more on the plot.
Was the whole gypsy sequence necessary?
I'm sorry, history of film, I am a failure at liking what I am supposed to like.
