Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by Toucan C — 12 Feb 2012
This movie sucks. I dont get why it is seen as the greatest bond movie. Maybe it was original when it came out and I've seen too many things that have copied it. But the plot is so slow, Bond spends half the movie sitting on a train doing nothing, all the crappy Russian accents made it hard to follow what was going on, and I was forced to watch a totally pointless Gypsy girl fight, after which the girls were given to bond as some sort of present.
Creepy. Sean Connery has to be the most boring actor on the planet. He wanders around slowly, and acts like he couldn't give a hoot about anything going on around him, making it hard for me to invest in the story.
The film should have been about the girl. She actually had personality, and it was her that saved the day. Screw Bond.
