Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by John B — 29 Sep 2012
Perhaps the most faithful Fleming adaptation FRWL is far better plotted than it's predecessor. Robert Shaw is a brutal adversary as Red Grant in scenes on the orient express. Istanbul features for the first time and is superb as a location.
Not too keen on the gypsy scenes which drag the rating down to a 4 rather than a 5.
