Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by Bob K — 18 Nov 2012
I saw this in 1963. It was my first Bond movie, and I totally fell in love with Daniela Bianchi. Robert Shaw was fabulous as Red Grant. This is still my favorite Bond, although there have been a lot of really great ones over the past fifty years.
One of the reasons I love this one so much is that it didn't depend on a lot of the crazy gadgets featured in so many of the others, and it had a terrifically complex story line. The stunning vistas and the story are terrific.
There are so many great things about this movie that none of the rest have totally equaled it in my mind. I've watched it over the years, and it still holds up. Highly recommended.
