Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by Brian D — 19 Apr 2014
'From Russia with Love' begins to round out the classic Bond formula, adding the pre-title sequence and gadgets from Q-Branch. The story flows smoothly to multiple locations across the world. And Connery owns the role.
He remains the actor that best balances Bond's lighter and ruthless sides. The fight scene in the train car towards the end of the film is one of my favorite Bond fight sequences. And what determination Pedro Armendariz (Bey) showed by finishing his parts of the film while battling cancer.
