Review of From Russia with Love (1963) by Ross W — 08 Jan 2015
This is an exceptionally well made James Bond movie. I once read that Quentin Tarantino said that this is his favorite of all the Bond films as I can definitely see it as the movie really doesn't pick up full speed until the third act.
The rest of the movie plays out just like a Tarantino film, slowly paced with dialogue with a few action sequences that take place just enough to tease us for what is to come and then when the shit hits the fan, it hits the fan.
The one thing I will say that I love most about the Bond films is the opening credits as I can see where Tarantino got the inspiration for his opening credits for his movies as the Bond films true signature for me is the opening credits.
Sean Connery especially in this film with his Bond catch phrases proves why he will always remain the best Bond in my opinion as with his Scottish charm and wisdom that Connery is best known for in his movies proves not only is he the best Bond, but why he will always remain an icon in Hollywood.
