Review of From Paris with Love (2010) by Indiana J — 20 Oct 2011
A James Bond-ian espionage action movie disguised as a run-of-the-mill shoot-em-up. The likable duo blast their way through Paris convincingly, while using all manner of spy gadgets and gizmos that are just subtle and simple enough to feel realistic.
Third-act plot twists you sort of see coming but they are invigorating all the same. The climax is a cool balance of action and investigation all bundled into a scene of final drama that ends on a brutal note that more cowardly films would shy away from.
An enjoyable ride from start to finish and Travolta's best performance in years.
