Review of From Paris with Love (2010) by Jarrett M — 26 Nov 2011
From Paris With Love is a generic action flick with a slight amount of european sensibility wrapped in a thick coat of American mindlessness. There isn't much in this movie that will impress you or that is new and interesting.
Everything is sufficient, but nothing is superb. The most entertaining thing in the movie is seeing Travolta have a blast burning through lines of dialogue and all the enemy 'red shirts' that the script can throw at him.
The story meanders all over the place throwing minor twists and red herrings around to try to confuse the audience and keep then wondering who to trust, but most of the attempts don't really work and leave the story looking more dumb than clever.
While the film does have it's flaws, it is still a fun, mindless ride that is worth taking for those that like to turn their brain off for an hour and a half. Especially those that want to see Travolta with his badassery on full display.
